1995 240sx SE

Hey , i have a check engine light, i read through the FSM looking for away to get the ecu to flash the error code but was unable to find one. On previous cars that ive messed around with i was able to short pins on the diagnostic connector which would cause the check engine light to flash the corresponding error code. Is this possible with the ka24 ecu? and if it is how do you go about doing it ? The car seems to run and drive without fault so i am really curious as to what is throwing the error.
