Hey guys i'm new to this forum as I am a new 240 owner. I'm glad to be here by the way! I cant wait to get this project getting under way as I had a few questins just before I started ordering parts and a motor. MY big question that I really need to know before I start is about the s15 swap into a 95 240sx. From what I hear the 6 speed is weaker than the 5 and the diff has to be replaced with the converter box and what not but that's least of my worries my biggest worry is the motor is rumored to fit perfectly on the stock mounts and the problem comes in with the trans modification everyone keeps talking about if anyone could post me pictures of what has to be done for this modification or just a detailed description of what has to be done for this trans to sit up in there but any input would be greatly appreciated I will check back everyday as i hope people will answer to this considering i'm a newb poster.

Thanks In Advance!

The physical swapping of the S15 motor isn't that big of a deal. It should bolt up just like every other SR motor does. You will probably need the S15 transmission crossmember as I assume it's different from the 5-speed cross member. I can't confirm that at all though.

The rear diff has the speed sensor in it, so you'll need to run wires to the rear diff to get your speedo to work, as well as a converter box to convert the signal over to something the speedo can read.

A good friend of mine has an S15 motor sitting in his vert, and as far as I know, there wasn't anything special that needed to be done to make it fit.

mine came with transmission mounts and cross member frame so its bolt on. As I look, it looks like the same as the 5 speed cross member. The S15 drive shaft bolted onto S14 chassis, but to the S13 it wont bolt on. The rear diff, cluster, ABS/speedo box got to have it!. If not dakota makes a conversions.
