So I still can't figure out how to remove this damn thing. The harness is totally free from the engine bay, but it's stuck under the dash somewhere. I have the ECU unplugged, and those wires are free. Then, they head straight up, behind the blower, jog to the other side of the blower (the drivers side) and go through the firewall. Somewhere back there they are attached to a number of plugs and clips and junk.

From what I can see, there are 6 plugs that the harness has on the inside of the firewall. So far the only thing I have access to is the ECU plug, which is no longer an issue. How do I gain access to the rest of these to unplug them and are there really 5 more?

I might be able to look at it this weekend because I might be helping Andy with his SR swap. Also with my SR I only remember maybe 3 or 4 plugs inside but SR is OBD1 not 2.

Did you unplug the dash harness? You may have to take out the glove box to get to it.

My car is OBD1. What I dont understand is that there are clearly 6 things there inside of the firewall in that pic, and as of now I've heard everything but 6 connectors from a couple different people.

The glovebox is removed, and the blower is right behind it up against the firewall, with the harness behind that. The dash plug is not unplugged (are there 1 or 2 of those? and is there really a body harness plug?) because there is no access to them.
