how do you know?AZ89two4Tsx wrote:You will not enjoy an automatic.
Do the manual conversion.
Really? Cause the stock 5spd SR trans is so tough what that breaks with a little more then 300whp? between 3 friends they have gone through 6-8 sr' transmissions.whyteboi wrote:really tho, the money it takes to have an auto last isnt worth it imo
WHY!!!! The hell not?people still run rota's/sportmax's i'd rather see him run a auto and nicer wheels, f*** it's his car, let him do what he wants.s13 iDRIFT wrote:so you basically want a auto?
WHY!!!!
It wouldnt be all that different from a manual SR swap. You need the engine, auto transmission, ecu, ext.... the same stuff you need to do a manual SR except auto parts. The you can use your auto KA drive shaft. You will need a SR radiator. The problem is you will need to find an auto SR radiator. That might be a little tricky to find. If not, you could use a manual one and fab something up for your transmission. The wireing would also be a little different. Im sure most would be the same. The rest would be simple. Buy it. Drops right in on stock KA motor mounts. Just read about Manual SR swaps and change things a bit to accomodate the auto transmission.arman_6872 wrote:I'm considering swapping my stock motor to a sr20det w/turbo, only thing is that mine is an automatic and don't really want to do the whole auto to manual conversion, kinda like the ease of not having to clutch anymore. What would I need to do this conversion?
i personally don't think it would be as hard as your making it out to be. Call up any GOOD engine importer and ask if they have one or can get a auto SR. (i called a few about getting a auto Ca18det for a daily) and they are actually pretty cheap for a swap (motor, trans, harness, etc) just run a aftermarket SR radiator and then get a aftermarket transmission cooler (a good one) and a trans temp gauge and go have some fun!SR24DET wrote:
