I found out my clutch for my poor baby is a dud and I have questions about getting a new clutch and flywheel. I think i found the clutch I want but I was wanting to know if anyone had a lightly used aftermarket flywheel or where it buy one at a good price, also what the difference in weight of the wheel and how/if it would affect the clutch also how light weight I should go with a slightly modified 200sx 2.0 SE-R. I have have plans to make it a bad little beast later down the road so I guess I just need so facts and opinons on what to go with.If anyone know how to install one (I'm not for sure if any mechanics around here now how to fix much on a Nissan).Thankful for any help I can get. What clutch are you looking at?

JWT, JUN, and Unorthodox make flywheels for the SE-R. JUN is Japanese, but I've seen them in the 'states. They range from 8 or 9lbs to 11 or 13 (obviously I can't remember off the top of my head). A super light flywheel is going to make the car more difficult to drive in day-to-day street conditions. IMO, it'd be better to stick with the heavier weights for a street car. You also may throw a code because the number of teeth on the aftermarket flywheel may not match up with the stocker.

What other mods do you have?

Well never mind about the clutch I was thinking about the shop I took it to voided my warrenty saying "I had oviously abused and misused the clutch" I got pretty pissed and raised my voice with them so they had the cops escort my from the building. I havent even got the car above 5 grand in 4 months. So now I was wondering where I could find an aftermarket clutch at or under $400 dollars and a flywheel in that price range too.Their are no other shops around that know how to fix a Nissan so if you had any do it yourself info it would be most helpful. Again thanks for any help.

My baby has ram air and a 2in straight pipe other than that its stock. Why would an extremley light flywheel make the car hard to handle?Rev to quick? Would it still hold up to extra horsepower later on?

No, not having the same number of teeth won't cause any actual problems, but the ECU might throw a code.

It would hold up, but it will also gain and lose revs very quickly, which will make shifting tricky, especially in traffic.

Clutch and flywheel for $400? Without a pressure plate that might be doable, but it's going to be more than that most likely. Unorthodox Racing and JWT both make very good stuff, take a look at them.

Honestly, I'd go for easier mods first like a header (though you're definitely going to want a muffler and a resonator, it's going to be obnoxiously loud otherwise).

The SE-R is also a good platform for boost, if you're so inclined.

What do you want out of the car? If it's just a DD and your 240 is your performance machine, I wouldn't mess with the flywheel.

Well... my 240 is actually my dd and my 200sx is more of my love. I got my 240 with a sr20det not in the car for $1800 and I have been planing on doing the swap in a week or 2 working on it between work and school. My 200 is my baby because first off noboby knows it has the potential to be a badass car ,plus noone has respect for a Nissan at school and I love beating up on chevy trucks. I just wanted to take it a step further with some transmission work ssince it has to be done any how. i have a friend thats a welder that said he would make me a set of headers for $10 he also did my exhast I have a glass pack on it (I know sad but I got it for $2.50) but it actually sounds good it has a good tone at low end. I am checking out the Unorthodox web site right now. When I said tha I was looking for a clutch and flywheel I meant that I had about $400 dollars to spend on each(my next 3 pay checks).

Then go for it. $400 each is doable.

If you really want to surprise some people, boost the SE-R once the 240 swap is running well.

A.C.T. Heavy Duty Clutch Kit (2.0L SER) (4-puck disc 215mm) ##SER20DET Engine Swap Front wheel drive only [NX9-HDR4] $332.97

This is the clutch I was looking at but this worries me (SER20DET Engine Swap). Does that mean that it has to be turboed or it can be n/a.Plus if you turbo a n/a car without lowering the compression it will f up the engine... won't it?

JWT Aluminum Flywheel (2.0L)(9 LBS)Fits:- 1995-1998 Nissan 200SX (SE-R, SE) $399.97and this is the flywheel I thought would be the best. Its the heavyest one this site has to offer. I had trouble geting directly to JWTs web sit.

There's no need whatsoever for a 4puck on an NA engine, or even a moderately boosted. A segmented Kevlar disc with a sprung hub with be comfortable and hold you even if/when you do decide to boost (some claim on up to ~275whp, which is a considerable amount of boost). A ceramic puck is just going to be a pain to drive around.

If you're going to stay NA for sure, you can even use a full-face disc.

And it depends on the engine. NA SR's can take quite a bit of boost on stock internals/compression.

I think i found a more suiting clutch and exedy stage 1 organic singal disc clutch. So if I slaped on a tubo to my sr20de it would fine (just alot fatser) without wearing out the engine with no need to lower compression. Dam* I think i just found out where my next 12 pay checks are going. Thanks for helping me find the right parts for my car.
