I own and Actual Silvia K's S14 in Japan and have been trying for nearly a month to find brake information. I am looking for Brake Rotors (drilled, slotted, both) for the front and rear and Hawk HP+ Pads front and rear. Everyone in the states does the conversions for this and that. I have stock 4 piston front calipers and one piston rears. I have some ideas as to what might work but since I will have to mail them to Japan I don't want to be guessing. I pulled the pads and rotors, took measurements and made outlines of the pads.

Is there anyone out there that knows for sure what part numbers I need? Has anyone done this yet? Is there a brake specialist, Company, willing to work with me to find out for sure?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks .

4 piston sounds like z32 (*fairlady zx brakes) so pads should be those...*i don't think there's a difference btwn 26 or 30 mm calipers. Rotors should be fairlady rotors as well (check rotor width 1st). Rears sound like stock silvia k's (s13&s14) pads and non-vented rotors.

*fairlady zx z32=300zx 90-96 USDM.

They are exactly the same as the 92+ Z32 26mm iron units in teh states. If you want upgrades then buy parts for that car.

Chingon - I am thinking they are Z32 brakes for the front and Stock USDM Rear as well. Problem is that if they are the wrong ones then I have to pay the shipping back to the states for a return and maybe shipping over again for the new ones or try to sell them and re-order.

Candela - Chingon brought up that the rotors should be the same but if you are saying they are the exact same as the Z32 26mm rotors then whay are the nearly brand new front rotors on my car 30mm?

Here are some of the measurements I took.

Front: Rotor Diameter = 280mm*Rotor Thickness = 30mm*Hat Outside Diameter = 155mm*Pads are Sumitomo SN258P E7X13

Rear:Rotor Diameter = 258mm*Rotor Thickness = 9mm*Hat Outside Diameter = 165mm*Pads are Sumitomo SN551P 8G02

**** I forgot to measure hat hight. Time to pull the breaks... AGAIN. :(

* All measurements are made with a tape measure so may be off a little bit.

So just by the replys I guess you can understand why I am a little worried about going with my Assumptions.

Thanks for the replies so far. Anyone else???

I think candela is wrong about the 26mm iron calipers...If i understand correctly, only 1990 z32's had 26mm calipers and all 26mm calipers were al. not iron. (this is in the states, don't know if the same in japan). So by your measurements, I assume you have either 30mm iron, or 30mm al. calipers (check w/a magnet to see if they're iron or not.) Either way, you will need 30mm rotors (all years are the same) and 240sx rear rotors.I am pretty sure pads only came in one fit for the z and the 240 for the rear..

should be 30mm iron. just go and get Z32 brake pads and you will be fine. the rears are stock 240sx brakes.

why are you shipping stuff from the states? you do realize the parts are sold there too, right? hawk pads might not be readily avaliable but there are other options that are just as good.

Hawk Pads are about $100 for the whole car and are an extremely good pad for the weekend warrior. For a decent set of front pads here I will pay $250 here. Front and rear rotors are about $250 for brembo from the states. The same exact rotors here are about $500 and up. So basically I am saving 50% and getting what I want rather than having to play hit or miss with pads here.... Rather good logic if you ask me. Yes there are some extremely high quality parts here. Some are much better than what is commonly available there, but you pay a huge mark up here.

So that is why.
