The car runs and idles well without any concerns. What should I check for? or is this the job of a mechanic?

Could be the TCS relays under the battery...

Perform a search and youll see what needs to happen!

As long as battery (or is it alternator?) light is not being displayed also.

Check battery and alternator output.

Could I just pull the relay to keep the TCS from coming and put it back in during the winter which is the only time I really need it?

they're only $12.30 each from Joe. I just did this and it was the fix. The hassel of taking the battery out/in just to access the relays would make me plop down the $25 for both and just change 'em, rather than dink with it. Of course, it only seems to be the common, but not automatic fix.....

I replaced the two BLUE relays and the symptom remains the same as before changing the relays. (The SLIP and TCS OFF lights stayed on). The relays were purchased at Kragen Autoparts for $16 a pop.

I tried to locate the self diagnostic display unit inside the trunk. I found it, but don't see any LED flashing or any display media at all, just a cable coming in.

I'm having the same problem. Prior to this I had the alternator regulator fail and the first indication of this problem was the SLIP, TCS OFF, and the ABS lights on. I wired my Fluke multimeter to the lighter while I was driving to see what the voltage was and it went all the way up to 20 volts! I got it to the shop where the alternator was replaced only 7 months ago to have it replaced under warranty but I had to drive about 20+ miles with the high voltage on the system. The alternator is fine now but I have noticed that once in a while the SLIP and TCS OFF are coming on but not the ABS light. Checked the voltage when this happens and it's normal (13.5-14 volts). I am wondering if something "fried" due to the high voltage.

That photo that is posted....that's the cell phone "brain" for the OEM cell phone...

I too have the TCS SLIP lights permanently ON.

I also notice that there seems to occassionally (most noticably on uphill/grades on the hwy) some hesitation, as if the TCS is intermitently kicking in.

I've been reading the threaads but did not seem to hear anyone report this symptom.

I have a similar problem intermitantly. I restart and it goes out but my mechanic says I need a new ignition switch.

Gotta be careful about over voltages that can destroy or just damage expensive electronic modules..............they are not designed to take excessive voltage.

Good way to trash $5,000 worth of electronics.
