How difficult is it to change the belts on this vehicle? Also it sounds like one of the idler pulleys is dragging or something, anyone ever experience that? Because it sounds like the engine is mush noisier than it should be. You can hear it from outside the car kind of like a medium pitched whining sound coming from the front of the car.

Any ideas

Drive the car up some ramps, remove the center splash guard underneath the car and all belts, pulleys, etc. are accessible from here.

When you want to tight/loosen the belts, make sure to loosen the nut on the pulley face to release the tension so the adjustment bolt can be turned. Don't remove the nut on the pulley, just 1/2 to 3/4 turn.

Confirm belt deflection per your year model FSM.

It is a great idea to have the pulleys on hand so failed or marginal ones can be replaced to avoid repeat labor.

Check your coolng fan for cracks and replace it if it does.

Start a thread and tell us about you car. How many miles does it have? What maint have you performed? Get service records from local dealership by VIN for main history before your ownership.

If you've got 100k on your car and the idler pullies are noisy, they probably need replacing. I replaced on mine last week and the bearings fell out in my hand! :0
