Brothers (and perhaps sisters),

It is with great regret that I inform you of the passing of my beloved 1994 Infiniti Q45, which was taken from me in a total loss following a rear-ender that pushed it into another via a chain-reaction. I am in quite good shape, all things considered.

I purchased the vehicle in February 2007 with a mere 166,000 kms (100,000 miles). We enjoyed three happy years and about 40,000 kms of quite trouble-free and luxurious driving. Many thanks to the members of this board for the help I've received over the years.

I know that it's carbon footprint is gone, but it will forever leave a giant carbon footprint on my heart.

My insurance company (ICBC) authorized me to rent an "equivalent" vehicle, which Hertz deemed to be a Chevrolet Impala! They just don't understand do they?

Sadly, I can't see myself getting another Q45. The gas mileage was downright terrible (15-16 MPG and those were Canadian gallons!) and parts supply was becoming an issue. Maybe a Maxima 5-speed would be a good compromise. We'll see. It's just too soon.

In lieu of flowers, I would ask that you chirp your tires once in memory of what has been my most fondly remembered automotive experience to date.

AHHHHH the Q served its master by taking the brunt of the impact and protecting its owner.....gave up its life for yours, as designed.......give it a good funeral and take the clock out and make a custom wood case for it along with a 12 volt power supply and proudly display it on your desk or nightstand.

Well, I'm not normally given to conspiracy theories ... but there were two Honda Accords involved in the chain-reaction and one of them rear-ended me. Do cars get jealous?
