Hi all, I am a new member, tried doing the search but couldn't find the similar issue with anyone else. I bought a 1994 q 45 about 3 months ago. Has 150k miles. The car runs great but has a lot of body roll. Its basically like a see-saw. On the expressway it wants to change lanes anytime its a little bit windy by itself where I have to hold on to it to keep straight. I found out that the shocks were bad and replaced them with the blue tokicos. Also replaced the front sway bar bushings which were completely worn out. That helped in better controling the car, but still it rolls on both sides alot. If I move around in the parked car it is still very pronounced. I am in central illinois, would appreciate all the help

Hope you replaced all the rubber while you were at it.

What you describe is pitch, and the shocks should help control that. How are your upper links and tension rod bearings? Rear subframe bushings intact? No leaks anywhere back there?

If you have a standard model, did you install the a model rear anti-sway bar?

And welcome to our little club with a lot of information!

I'd check the upper links first. They always need replacing by 100K. 150K might be enough to need to replace them twice.

You can check the links by jacking up the car and shoving the end of the upper link with your hand from side to side, you'll feel the play. For a newbie I'd do this chack with the tire off.

Upper links last 30-45,000 miles [varies by side and road roughness] before they start to have excessive play [the oem tsb allows a wider latitude to reduce warranty cost]...........what's good enough for the average non caring owner. Years ago before the factory clamped down ----dealers were replacing them sooner than 30k......later it was almost impossible to get one free prior to warranty expiration.

Similar with tension rods ~~60k or 4 year life with passenger side [rougher road side failing first].

About my replacement interval. Not as cheap as thrashing them, but better for wear on the long and short run for the rest of the suspension components, especially the tires.
