Hi, I'm tackling over the coming weekend. Anyone done this recently and have any input for me?

I'm a little afraid that they may be seized on and take significant effort to remove. My shop manual is 80 miles away so I don't know the exact procedure.

How are they secured to the central hub? Does anyone have a synopsis of the removal procedure and any hints?

thanks,Stefan

Stefan

Just remove the calipers at the hub (do not remove the calipers from the brackets), they come right off....... My bolts didnt take a lot of effort to get off...

Got to be easier then than changing springs on the struts or changing the plugs.

thanks much,stefan

Do the pads while your in there too!

If you see my other thread, you'll see that using Stillen pads trashed my front rotors and the pads were crap. Hence the need for new pads and rotors. Doing the shims and repacking wheel bearings while I'm in there.

When I stopped using MM/Stillen pads [last 4 sets] the interval between rotor warps increased....[GOOD]......the U91 and U93 oem front pads seem much better now than 7 years ago when I stopped using them. Even oem U85 rear pads have improved.

Probably reformulated by manufacturer. When California band most Copper from pads........copper dust into water.

But then again I have done much mountain road testing recently.

Is the process the same for replacing the rotors and pads on the 1997 Q45?

I have past experience replacing brakes and rotors (Corolla) but I havent yet ventured to do it on my Infiniti. I just want to avoid any surprises. Are there any pictures out there on the web? Thanks.

No pictures of which I know, but it is really straight forward. A dial gauge to check for hub and rotor runout and indexing is good.
