1994 Q45 Power steering pump

My power steering pump may be bad. Does anyone have instructions on replacing the power steering pump on a 1994 Q45. Where is the pump located? I leaked some fluid from a sudden crack in the power steering line and may have fried my pump. I p atched the line, no more leaking and topped up the fluid. Steering still stiff. There is a funny kind of rattling sound coming from below the engine kind of middle right location. Someone told me the pump is bad. Any Suggestions out there?

Did you check the accessory drive belts and pulleys?

Its on the driver side. Take of the lower splash shield and you will see it.Download the FSM

It is pretty easy

Loosen the belt tensionerRemove the bracket bolts 12mm and 14mm

take the pump out, swap the pulley to the new pump

re install

Make sure you get new copper washers for the lines (4)

hey guys trying to purchase the replacement power steering pump for the 1994 Q45 and I get asked if the car has full active suspension. So with or without an owners manual how can I tell? Also what's a FSM and where can I download it from.

The full active shows Q45a on the rear emblem and has a height controller on the shifter bezel area in front of the armrest. I'm guessing yours isn't.

Look on eBay for someone selling the bible sized one that came with the car, or occasionally the full size FSM.

A 1994 is close, but you have to know where the differences are.
