I recently inherited a 1994 Infiniti Q45. The driver rear and the passenger door locks do not work. Initially, I thought it was the actuator. While installing the door lock actuator I discovered that the rear lock was not getting any power. I did not install the passenger actuactor. What is causing this problem?

Check the fuse. If ok, check the wiring harness in the loom between the door and jamb. Wires tend to break there.

Isn't there a lock control unit on the '94? I'm thinking that's the year they went with the whole LAN setup. Check the FSM at http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

There's a Power Window and Door Lock Amplifier in each door of the 94-96 Q. Chances are pretty good that it's the one in the driver front door that's gone bad, especially if you can't lock all the doors from the switch on the driver's door. It's the only electrical unit behind the door panel so before you look for a replacement pull it apart and resolder any joints that look like they are melted. You might get lucky and be able to repair it yourself.
