1994 Q45 AC just quit working

Hey guys,

The title sums it up. The AC was working yesterday and today it is NOT. I noticed when I ran an errand this morning that it didn't seem to be cooling as well and this afternoon after work it wasn't working at all. I've checked the fuses and the relay and they seem OK. I swapped the AC relay with the cruise relay. I checked the compressor and it is turning when the AC is switched on. Any ideas? It is much too hot to go without it.

Theres many things you can check, but knowing the AC pressures would be a great start. That will help us indicate what is wrong...

Any work ever been done on the AC?

No work has been done in the 7 years and 120K out of 174K total miles that I have owned it.

Does the AC compressor come on....? Does it make any weird noises?

Still, without and pressure readings we're just shooting in the dark.

The compressor comes on and sounds normal.

Try to charge the freon yourself. If it hold up till next year, then great. Else you just out of only $10.

I had similar problem w/ my car at the beginning of summer. I fixed for less than $10. It still works great.

Yeah, I am going to put some gauges on it and give it a shot of 134.

I thought it was R14?
