Hi Guy's,

I'm new to the forum and new to the world of infinity. I just bought my wife a 1994 J30 and she loves it but the remote locking dosen't work. I tried to perform th reprogramming ritual but i was unsuccessful (well my wife came out and opened the drivers door while i was at the part where you put the key in 6x within 15sec) The alarm went off and i couldn't turn it off so i had to let it run it's course. I haven't tried it again yet but i just wanted to know if this formula works for a 1994 J30 with oem keyfobs.

Thanks

and great forum by the way.

Mike

I just did the following procedure with a Fob I just got off ebay ..And it worked !!! Although I cant get the trunk to pop open. Maybe a bad switch on the Fob.I does look like its been through a warfield !!

To reprogram (enter new ID) key fob (keyless remote controller) follow the steps.1. Close all doors and lock all doors2. From the door switch unlock the trunk.3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder six times within 10 seconds. NOTE: Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.NOTE: Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed.NOTE: At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erased.4. Manually unlock and lock the driver side door5. Push any button on the new remote controller once.

To shut the alarm off, use the key to open the trunk.

Thanks for your replies guy's and i'll try to get it done when she's asleep lol.

Oh i didn't have the "open trunk lock" part of the procedure in my instructions so maybe that was what i was doing wrong!!

I tried the first procedure in the list and it didn't work ..Also note on that procedure that DID work it says the interior lights will flash twice ..Mine didn't ..But after the procedure before I got out of the car I hit some buttons and I heard a relay click in the dash ..SCORE !!!!

You do know you have to hold down the trunk button for a few seconds to pop it, right?

This is so when you press the trunk button by mistake, or something in your pocket presses it, the trunk doesn't pop right open and leave your car open. The door locks will re-lock after a half-minute or so, if you don't open them, so a similar move on the remote won't leave the car unlocked. The doors don't spring out of latch like the trunk does. Now, if you ever get the windows to roll down with the remote like the Owner's Manual promises they will, let me know.

Thanks man .. the trunk does pop ..

Only downside of this remote is I have to be right beside the car to be in range .Yes its a brand new battery Whats the supposed procedure to roll the windows down ??That would be handy on the 110F days I have down here.
