Hello guys, I have a 1994 Nissan Maxima that I just bought from a friend, its been sitting up for quite some time in a garage because it belonged to his grandmother who can no longer drive. Well the suspension needs work, all four shocks are bottomed out; its never been changed. I managed to buy 2 brand new KYB front struts & rear shocks as well. My question is, what other parts do I need to replace while replacing the struts and shocks? I know I need bellows & spring seats, but are there any washers etc that I need to purchased in order for the job to be done right? Are some parts reusable? Please list them here as well as links so I can get them ordered. I'm not doing anything fancy but restoring the car to factory suspension. Thanks guys for your help.

Here's some pics of the front.

you'll need a spring compressor to compress the spring before removing the mount and installing the new strut

Thanks for the response bro, I'm not doing it... The shop is, well a mechanic school is doing it. The instructor made it clear that I should bring all the parts that are needed to do the replacement. So besides the compressor, do I need anything like bushings I dunno what that is...

the school should have a spring compressor tool around if anything. should be pretty straight forward, unless they find that your strut mounts are shot or something of the like...the springs should be reusable, unless you want to go after market or something...

Oh ok cool... Just wanted to know if there were other things that need to be replaced other than the bellows and springs seats. I think the mounts are still good... Thanks bro

I'm willing to bet that you'll need new rear shock mounts and gaskets. Maybe new front mounts & bearings.

How much do you think all that will run for?

How do I know if I will need new mounts? This car has barely been driven, for its age it only has 96k miles for a 94 Maxima... I checked the mounts, and they look pretty solid, no clunking noise or rust... In fact, I kno for sure these shocks and mounts have never been change and are the factory mounts. So how would I know? I really don't want to buy mounts if I don't need them. Thanks.
