Can anyone help me get my power door locks on my 1994 Nissan Maxima to work again. If i put pressure against one of the plugs that plugs in the door timer box to the right of the steering wheel they work. I can hear the faint clicking when i operate the door switches, but cant heat anything when i unlock my car with the alarm remote maybe because of the alarm sound. Don't know very much about cars, so please explain where things are at in my car. Thank you very much for any help

You might check out the 3rd generation forums on Maxima.org. They are more specific to these cars.

The issue you are having is super common. I'm having the same one with my 1994 Maxima as well. It's hard to find door switches that work anymore. If you find one from a junkyard it likely has the same issue.

I can't find a 94 maxima in any junk yard around sacramento, and mine has a DOHC so its even harder to find. I tried looking on the forums, but couldnt find any about the door locks. Thank you though, I have 2 or 3 of the door timer box things that go under the dash, but none of them fix the problem, and i dont here the clicking sound anymore that i used to hear from the box.

I believe your door lock timers and switches are the same, despite have the DOHC motor.

Here is a link to a search I threw together on Maxima.org for the 3rd generation Maxima's (our Maxima's). If you figure this out, will you post back here? I still need to get this sorted on mine as well.

Edit: also, for future reference, the generation your Maxima is in covers 1989-1994. Most non-engine parts will be the same for your car. You have the SE from 1992-1994, which had the newer DOHC motor. Same motor that's in the next generation of Maxima, as well as the z32's (90-96 300ZX), among other vehicles.

My pleasure :)

It's good to know there are still some 3rd generation Maxima's out there. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one left. I don't ever see them around town or in my area anymore.

I haven't seen any in my town. Once i get mine fixed up a little more i'll post some pictures. putting on a new body kit, have new wilwood calipers on the way, and can't wait to put them on, next purchase is gonna be dynamic pro sport, or godspeed coilovers. I can't wait to get it all together.

I'll look forward to seeing it! Where in the world did you find a bodykit? I'm surprised they exist anymore

VIS Racing $810 and that includes shipping, and I'm pretty sure that is the only place that still makes them, because I had one ordered from sarona, but they discontinued making there, and threw out the molds they had. I looked everywhere on the internet, VIS Racing the only place i found.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I'll remember this.

Semi-related question: do they or another company that you know of make a spoiler for our cars? My factory spoiler developed some damage that got much worse after a rainy season. I need to replace it at some point (soon). I'm kicking myself for not buying one I saw in the classifieds on another Maxima website for $150 that was factory.

Wow! I just went to their website and searched. They do have it. I'll have to add this to my wish list. Looks like it would be about $300. I can't complain too much though. I thought they straight up didn't exist anymore. Thanks!
