My 94 nissan hardbody 2.4L is having electrical problems since the day i installed an aftermarket cd player. Everything worked fine till one night i was driving home from work and the ac control panel went blank and wont come back on. i notice the only thing that works is the ac button activates the ac clutch but the panel, blower is inop.

PLEASE HELP

Did you cut the wiring harness to install your new radio?

Yes most likely relays if AC is kicking clutch but no blowers check if cheap buy both and install if not fixed at least you know you have 2 new ones

On my 1994, 4x4 Hardbody the wires came un-soldered from the blower switch.

Pull the control unit out of the dash. The blower wires are on top. There's 4 wires - 4spd blower. My #2 and #4 wire were not soldered. Cold joint from the factory? Vibration caused them to break away after years of bouncing down the road?

I just sanded the old joint with a fingernail file. Brushed some paste flux in there. Heated up my 40w soldering iron. Had a buddy hold the wires in place while I touched the soldering gun and melted the factory solder again. Took about 3 secs per wire. Back in business!!

If the wires are still soldered on - then look at the fan motor. It's under the glove box. Glove box comes out easy. Pull 2 screws out of the back brace and slide the pins out of the way.

You could put 12V directly to the fan motor and see if it spins. Or ohm it out with a meter?

@ChrisHarris
I pulled the ac control unit out and found all wires to be fine, the problem im having is that im not getting any power to the ac control panel, all the lights dont work on the panel 2 weeks after i installed a new stereo im not sure if the wires to the radio had something to do with the ac controls but all of a sudden the lights to my panel just wouldnt work. I also tried to put the blower directly to the battery and it does work. Id like to know how this panel is wired because there is a fuse for the radio/ac together but my radio works fine how would i test the panel for power

thanks for your help
Brad
