1994 nissan d21 4cyl standard 2wd

When I start my truck cold there's a rattling sounds for no more then 10 seconds then it goes away. My friend says it's the timing belt. Was wondering if anyone had experienced this issue and what the official diagnosis might be as well as repair costs. Thanks

timing chain is rattling. use a ka24e timing chain kit with tensioner and your rattle will go away.
if you cannot find a how-to for the D21, the 1989-1990 240sx has the same motor and would probably
have more information due to being a popular chassis. good lucj
