Car: 1994 Maxima SEEngine: VE30DEIssue: Car has been running rich here lately and the CEL has been on for about a week. I ran the self-diagnostics test and got Code number 51 (injector circuit). I'm not quite sure how to go about fixing this one since I've never come across it before.

I also thought this was weird that no matter how many times I tried, I could not get the ECU to reset itself to clear the code and see if it came back.

Any help is appreciated.

Try grabbing the injector harness where it connects to the injector and wiggle it (while engine is running) and see if it kills that particular cylinder. If it does you can buy pigtail harness's for the injectors, make sure if you do need the harness's that you solder them in.

start with the injector harnesses, if that may not work, you may have one or more stuck injectors. ALSO you may notice a flat spot or miss. If you do need an injector I would recommend doing all 6 at once. It is not common for one to crap out soon after the other. goodluck!
