Hello All,I'm hoping I can find some help with my 94 J30. 1) The first problem is the check engine comes on and stays on most of the time. Someone said the EGR valve.2) The second is sometimes when I start to sccelerate it seems as though the engine has no power, it drags and then finally cathes up. This surge also happens sometimes when cruising.3) The radio plays no FM and no the am is starting to make pop noises every once awhile. These are just a few of the symptoms my car has.Any help would be great. The car has 105,000 miles on it and was recently tuned. Thanks,

Check the bottom of this thread for instructions on how to get the engine codes from the ECU:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....t=CEL

The ECU is found under a panel on the passenger side of the car, under the glove box and in front of the door. There's a diagram of where it is in the Service Manual as well. It's a pain to pull out and put back in because of the placement of the screws and the carpet.

The CEL is probably related to your other problem.

Would this procedure be applicable to the Q45 also? Will the error codes be the same? It would be nice to save the $80 the dealer charges.

2) Check your MAF connector by idling and then (gently) wiggling it.If your idle changes you found your problem.

My guess would be yes. The procedure worked for maxima/I30/J30 so I could only assume it would work for the Q and other models as well. I codes (for the most part) are the same. Some cars have 3 O2 sensors vs 2 etc...
