1994 J30 Straight Pipes

Sup guys,

I just loaded some videos to Youtube of my exhaust setup, nevermind the crappy camera work, I was on the phone most of the time.

I got my cats & resonators removed @ a shop in Tucker, GA for a good deal. At first I installed a universal muffler from Magnaflow but then went straight piped.

most of my street driving is in 3rd gear as it sounds & performs better, I switch to D gear when driving @ 80mph or higher for long distances.

I aim to get a Magnaflow or Flowmaster Catalytic Converters in a few weeks.

Even with resonators the sound is quite annoying. I am really anxious to get some cats on asap! and maybe 2 more resonators.

At speeds above 70 mph the sound can be pretty amazing especially in 3rd gear. Going through tunnels is something else entirely...

However for everyday street driving 0-30 mph the exhaust really blows... (pun intended)
I also feel like there is a loss of power at lower speeds. It sounds like I'm driving 5x faster than I am which causes a lot of others drivers near me to speed up.

Overall going straight pipes is cool and can be fun in the right situation but not practical long term.

That thing sounds like a beast, I'd love to hear that exhaust in motion.

I just installed a pair of Magnaflow Cats I got from Summit. The sound is much better and I notice some extra power but I feel there is more to be gained...
The sound is more focused now however it's still loud thanks to the drone. I plan on getting 2 high flow mufflers soon.

Also, I've noticed a nice increase in gas mileage as well even in 3rd gear.

Sup Guys, I just installed a Pro Series 3 X-Pipe and 2 Walker Exhaust Resonators as well as installing 3 inch pipes all all around. Old pipes were 2in I believe.

The drone is pretty much gone, the sound is much more like a Porsche instead of a Mustang (respectively) which is what I was aiming for.
There is a definite feeling of more HP, the power is much more available as opposed to hesitant (stock).
Acceleration feels improved at all ranges low speed and high.
The sound is intoxicating, much restraint is needed but I'll manage I can only imagine what it sounds like with a decent CAI and ECU tuned to 8000+ RPM...

All my driving has been done in 3rd gear, I will try D gear tomorrow.
