1994 J30 no spark/ starting problem

Hi, I am a new 1994 J30 owner. Bought it at a deal but it has some issues... It intermittently won't start. Turns over, won't catch. Sounds similar to what Deb was experiencing further down in the posts, except I don't have an engine light coming on. The mechanics I have taken it to (not dealer service yet) have scratched whatever it is they scratch and said "dunno" . They tried to tell me it was the security system locking the starter.... Okay so I see I need a new lock timer/actuator from the other posts cause sometimes it does lock itself and turn on its own alarm, but does this effect the starter, too? My brother-in-law did some kind of an ether test on it and said "No spark" or else the ether would have ignited. I like to be a self-sufficient kinda gal, so where do I go from here? I have used up a whole years worth of service for AAA Motor Club on this car in the 2 months I have had it! grrr Help! Katrinka

I would find an independent shop that specializes in Infiniti's or just bite the bullet and take it to the Infiniti dealership.

Sounds kinda like the CAS ... They kinda fade on you ... will work a bit then kinda stop working. My car was doing the same and security light was always on til I replaced the CAS. I'd also test the igniters along with the CAS. If the mechanics checked them then disabling the alarm may be in order.
