I replaced the factory panasonic cd player a while back with an el cameleon deck. About a month later the two front speakers stopped working. I checked to make sure the wiring was right and then even tried the old deck, no luck. Nothing comes out of the speakers at all, however i opened the door and tried the speakers out with a portable boombox and they worked fine. Why is this happening? I'm not very experienced with this stuff. Thanks

The factory amp could be blown due to the high input from your JVC deck. The rears still work because they have separated amp under the package tray. Do the grills say active speaker? Do you still have all factory speakers? let me know if this helps good luck

Yes, the speakers do say Active speakers. Where is the amp for the speakers in the front? I think the ones for the back are in the trunk right below them. All are factory speakers. Thanks!

I'm not sure where the front amplifier is, but there are at least two posibilities one location could be in the dash beneath the radio mounting location. The front amp could also be the clarion round hockey puck shaped thing mounted under the rear deack and the rears just run off the deck power. You have the front tweeters in the A-pillar right? Do the rear speakers play when there is no remote turn on connected? If so that means the rears are non-amplified check to see if the amp in the back is for the fronts. the colors for the drivers door speaker are blue/white +, and red/ blue -, and for passengers it is brown +, Brown/white -. Look for these wires coming out of whatever you suspect is the amplifier. sorry it's been a while since I worked on one, and they've all been different model years, with different systems.
