I just purchased my son a 94 300zx non-turbo version. While driving, it will just completely shut down. It seems like a an electrical issue of some sort. All dash board indications display like the key is in the on position prior to starting. He coast to the side of the road and starts it right back up usually with no other stall, anytime soon anyway. Any ideas what might be causing this or where to start looking? It is his first car...YEAH...

I am new to this so bare with me..Thanks...It is a standard...I need to put a clutch in it as well once I return from deployment. I recently had to replace a few power steering hoses but not the high pressure one. There was some leakage from the line onto the alternator but it did not seem to affect the charging system, I think.

Is there a difference between how it drives when its fully warmed up vs cold?? Or does it just stall all the time?

No not really...It doen't even stall all the time...I need to see if there is a pattern in when it does stall the first time. It really runs good as long as it continues to run...I am leaning towards a ignition issue...I don't know much about the ignition system but it is almost like something might be loose...My first thought was a thermal issue but it starts right back up with no issues...Any ignition guru's out there want to add something about that?

Im thinking more wiring issue. How are the connectors to pretty much everything?

This might seem kinda obvious, but are the battery connections on tight? I remember the same exact thing happened in my 240 and it was because the negative cable was loose and momentarily came off after hitting a bump.

Yes, that was one of the first things I checked. Since the battery is used to complete the circuit these days it was the most obvious choice to first look at.

Does it stall when coming to a stop or just in the middle of driving down the road? Speeding up or slowing down?

Just driving down the road. No particular accellerating or decellerating operations that I can put my finger on.

AC on or off? Does it seem to make a difference?
