I see that most of the people in these forums and in others talk about their 1990-1993 TT. I was just wondering if anyone has specific numbers of how many *real* (no swap) 1994-1996 TT were built?

I might be able to acquire a 1994 TT, and while I know I'm not getting 1 of only 5, but I do not often see 1994-1996 TT for sale and figure the numbers must be small compared to 1990-1993.

you have one of 829 94 TT's, if you hav a 96 model or a 90 model in 30 years wiht low miles it might actually be worth mroe than sticker, and that assumes you have an actual "C" code car not some swaphttp://www2.zhome.com:81/History/Zproduction.html

Why do you figure a 90 or 96? Because it was the first and last?

I'm not counting on being able to have a car that increases in value (though it would be nice). Besides, in 25 years, after inflation adjustments, the car would probably have to sell for $150,000-$250,000 to be equivalent to $35,000 in 1993.

I found a 1994 TT for sale that needs a new injector (supposedly determined by a mechanic), but it is in a state 1000 miles away and could be a PITA to get to Texas.

It has 118,000 miles on it. I love my NA, but I keep itching to play with more toys, ie intercoolers, turbos, boost controllers.

the first edition fo a car generally is mroe collectible than the last edition, unless it's a sepcial edition, look at the 240Z, the first 500 cars made are far more collectible than the last of the series in 73, basically unless it has stupid low miled in origional stock condition it's not worht mroe than a few grand, , a mothballed fearly vin car will bring 20-30k, this is for a car that sold efor 3K then, is worht abotu 30k now, 3k in 1970 dollars = about 30k in today dollars, so when I say an early prduction Z32 which was 30k new in 30 years if it's in all origional mothballed condition will be worth the equivelant on 30k today dollars in future dollars in 30 years, modified mid run cars have no significant value, the 77 Zap edition and the 78 black pearl are also collectible, but again all origional mothballed condition, you have a 10-15k car, the early cars are always mroe collectable even more so than the later special editions, ggranted the very last Z32, was given to MR K so it's no only the last but has a history, and so it will have value and lots of it, the SMZ's and Fairlady esitions will have mroe value than the other models but the question is will they meat or exceed early production cars? time will tell, btu your mid productin unit, is just another Z car

Actually, I was thinking that the 1994 is fairly desirable in these few regards:

1) Standard passenger airbag.2) Seat belts are pillar mounted 3) 8-bit ECU w/ VTC still 4) 1994 lacks some stupid extra emissions system? or idle air tubes? I forgot what it is....

I'm not sure how picky you can be. I'd go with whatever year you can find that meets your criteria.. a well cared for Z is hard to find, regardless of the year.

I'm not saying there is anythgin wrong with your particular year, it's just not collectable, special editions, early production and very later production are the cars that tend to be collectible, and a zero miles mothballed car will always bring mroe than a modified car when they are at an age in whihc they become collectible
