No BCM on 1990-1993 Q45, just a ADP (Automatic Driver Postioner) Computer in its place, and I assume that all the other interior electronic have there own control unit.maxnix wrote:Could be BCU, but check thoroughly the alternator and battery function first as Jtibbs suggests.
I can't unlock the car via drivers door either. I can lock with the drivers door outside, but the key won't turn to unlock the car. But when I am in the car, sometimes I can lock/unlock with the button and sometimes I can't. I can hear under the console a clicking noise when I press the button, but nothing happens.Jim1999Q45 wrote:Happens to many cars as they age. I was told that you're supposed to open the doors with the key once in a while. I got the locks on a 2000 Ford Ranger working off the button, recently, by greasing the rod and mechanism (took door panel off), and "exercised it with the key for a while.
Good luck!
The center console? In the 93 FSM on page EL 129 it shows a door lock relay and a door lock timer directly below where a spilled cup of coffee would drip if it were placed in the center console, just forward of the air bag module. BTW- These two relays have been relocated per the 94 FSM.jasonhirt23 wrote:....I can hear under the console a clicking noise when I press the button, but nothing happens.
Yeah, good point....console!! I will check this out when I have the chance. You said it is the front relay right?goody94q45 wrote:

Read up on universal relays. I'm not sure of the color but this relay may be one that you can swap with another of the same color somewhere else in the car until you can find a replacement. (Hint- Don't buy a new one. Many of us have bags of spare relays.)
