I was wondering, with 194xxx miles on the car, should I use Mobil 1 synthetic or use something else? Car does not smoke, burn or anything.

At almost 200,000 miles using synthetic now is a waste, unless it has been running synthetic since near new- all the wear is already done, and cant be reversed by using an expensive oil. Buy whatever 5w-30 or 10w-30 is currently on sale and change it often.

Walmart Supertech 10-40 synthetic. Comes in a 5 quart bottle at $13. Great price, good product.

There is a thread about the Supertech synthetic oil on the forum. Qship is right, all the wear is done.

I just tripped 150K and use 10w-30 Castrol GTX and Purolator Pure One filter. No issues whatsoever.

I also like Supertech. High-quality low-cost product for keeping old cars running. Their filters are worth trying too.

Use whatever you have been using to get to this point. If it isn't broken, why fix it.

Not true. Supertech isn't $13 anymore. It cost $18 now which isn't much a bargain now.

I wouldn't purchase SuperTech at this point because it cost $18 for a 5qt jug now. It's only feasible to purchae the name brand for $3 more with stronger additives.
