My car was made in 10/92. Does it have a security system and if so, does anyone have a used remote I could buy off them?Thanks.....Jason

you dont have a remote on 90-93 Q45.. only 94 model years and beyond got keyless entry.

just forewarning you but aftermarket remote starters/remote locks are generally a terrible idea on Q45s.

To check if it does easily put down your driver window, lock the door with the key, reach inside through the open window, unlock the car, open the door.It should go off. Or do the same except this time open the trunk, after you locked the car with the KEY.

Why is that? Do after market alarms not work well with Infinity's?

Its not really the alarms, its the people that wire them up. Most people that wire them up take short cuts but even the good guys fail to make wirring diagrams so you can diagnose what will go wrong with it in the future.

ALL Q45's HAVE A FACTORY ALARM

Do what Berner (Unknown007) said but give it 30 seconds or wait till the security light stops being lit up in the dash. If there is no alarm going off when you try to open a door say then there is something wrong with it. The of course you can diagnose it using the service manual: Nicoclub.com/FSM. Or take it to the dealer or someone with a Consult.

I got lucky and found a good installer for my remote door opener/alarm for the 90Q. I picked a local audio install shop that had been in business for over 15 years and after talking about what I needed had him show me the install schematic for my year Q that came up on his computer. (I inherited a remote when I bought the last 90Q so I knew it was doable) On the day of the install I brought in the FSM with pages tabbed that he may have needed to look at.

Once I figured out how the remote worked and was able to clear the random flashing lights when I hit the wrong button with it in my pocket, it's worked great. The kit and the install were $150. Avoid the big box stores who will likely have inexperienced workers and work with the owner of a smaller audio shop that's been in business for a while.
