HELP!

I have a 1993 Q45 with the BBS rims. I am missing two center caps. I went to the infinity dealer to get new ones and they tell me they are after market and they have not seen these before. I had to tell them they had two Q45's in the used car lot with the exact same wheels. Still no avail. Does anyone know where I can get these center caps. They twist off with a BBS plastic wrench. I will try to post a pic of the wheels.

Thanks Mike

Hmmmm. Those don't look like the BBS's I had on my 95. Are you certain they're BBS or could they be a different brand?

Call Scottsdale Infiniti here in AZ, talk to Joe in parts. he may be able to help.

I concur as there is no rim for weights, nor is the web pattern the same.

Look on the back of a clean wheel if the manufacturer is not identifiable from the front.

the rims pictured are not Infiniti OEM ( BBS) rims. That being said, OEM center caps for the (BBS) style wheels ARE dealer stocked. I just paid $37 including tax for one at Southwest Infiniti here in Houston (actually NBT reimbursed me they left al four unlocked on a rotation job --jerk tried to use his hands only I guess-- only 1 fell off before I caught it)

Thanks for the info. I will try the Infinity dealer in Scottsdale. AZhitman, you don't by chance have a phone number?

Thanks Mike

I do Mike, but like we said i don't think those are BBS's. Call (480) 941-0055. E-mail me off-line and I'll send you a closeup of the OEM BBS rims.

Texasoil, i had the same thing happen at Discount Tire. Lost one at 95mph! Shop manager chewed the installer for - you guessed it - not using the BBS wrench!

I had these same wheels on my 1991 G20- it was my understanding that they were a dealer installed option. I can't recall exactly, but I think the center caps said "Premier". I had a similar problem when I lost the inner ring/bolt cover off of one- no dealer could help me or tell me the manufacturer, although yours is the third Infiniti that I've seen them on. Good luck.

These are a dead ringer for the dealer installed wheels on my 1991 Acura. They were made in Japan under license to BBS. When a tire dealer failed to tighten one of the caps the dealer sent me directly to BBS for a replacement. If yours are the same you will clearly see the BBS name and model cast on the inside hub. If not so marked, they are not BBS, but I think they may be the same as what I had.

I do not have the name of the distributor any more, but when I needed to find the OZ distributor recently, Tirerack had a list.

BTW OZ was very helpful and courteous, helping with caps for the Fittipaldi wheels they made and Fittipaldi distributed. I hope BBS is as good.

These wheels are identical to the BBS wheels on my 91 Q45a. I recently had to replace two caps and rings.

BBS has a US division and the phone number is (770) 967-9848. You will need the part number from the wheel and the three part numbers from the ring and cap.

They were very helpful and my order was prompt.

Hope this helps.

It seems that some of the dealerships used different manufacturers of wheels for their dealer option wheels offered in the early 90s. My 92t has Rial A7035s on it. Very similar look to the ones pictured above except they have a lip for weights and all spokes are gold with milled edges. The Rial center caps are plastic and prone to breaking. Finding replacements are next to impossible.

The center caps have 4 plastic prawls held open with a circular ring. These 4 prawls hold the cap and center ring onto the wheel with friction (really cheap way to do it). When the pawls (or legs) break you are out of luck finding a way to hold the caps (and center covers) on. I had a make-shift setup working when only one of the pawls was broken on one of the caps. Now two legs are broken and I don't have a way to keep it on. So all four caps and center covers are off the car until I figure a way to secure the broken cap. These wheels have a tool that came with them to pop them off. The tool is plastic and metal. The metal eventually slipped out of the plastic T-handle so I had to drill a hole through both pieces to be able to run a screw through them to hold it together.

I have not looked at the wheels themselves to see if they say BBS. The tool that I have to remove these caps says BBS on it, so I assumed these were BBS wheels. I am glad to see that contrary to what all of the dealers think, there ARE other Infinity owners with the same wheels.

Those wheels are a dead ringer for my OZ's installed by the Infiniti dealer is San Antonio when purchasing the car....I've lost a center cap too and I've been looking for a year with no success. OZ advised that the wheels are discontinued and out of production and offered no help. I'd appreciate anyone's ideas.

Here is what I have found. On early model Lincoln Town cars and some Continentals (Early 90's) used the same exact wheel. The center caps are exactly the same aside from the Lincoln logo. If you can live with the Lincoln logo, your set. The only downfall, Lincoln wants $100 per center cap. Try a hub cap shop or a junk yard.

I was able to get Infiniti logos from TJ a year back that he was able to get from an aftermarket guy. They were the exact same size as the logos on my Rial wheels. They were plastic with adhesive backs. All I had to do was pop out the Rial logos and insert the Infiniti logos (black background with gold Infiniti logo). They look like original equipment now. Maybe Joe would have an idea of where TJ was getting them from...
