This is my question if someone can give some suggestions. Took my Q to a transmission shop to see why it would not shift into 4th gear. I specificly told them to check it out and just give a quote on the price to repair it. I didn't authorize any repairs but they ordered parts for the transmission installed them and told me it's $2200 for the repairs. All this was done without me approving any work so what do you think I should do about this. Keep in mind that what they done is illegal.

How much do you think it would have cost?

I would offer $500, then say if they don't like it, you will bring your lawyer along.

They know they did wrong.

PS. Actually consult a lawyer first.

A Nissan factory remannufactured unit with new as appropriate goodies will cost $2500-$3,500.

I would never trust a local or national franchise chain to repair because they cannot replace the needed hard parts some of which cost thousands all they can do is install the $300 kit of soft parts [takes 10-16 hours].

Complictaed business transmissions: because you don't know exactly until you take them out of vehicle and totally disassemble...............some times you are lucky but most times you are not.

Did you sign anything?

If you did, find your copy and read the fine print.

If you didn't sign anything, go find you a good lawyer.
