It may be many different things. Blown head gasket is causing low compression. When did you change your oil last? How many miles? Worst to worst piston rings, or bent valves. Check your pcv valve to make sure oil isint going back into the intake manifold. That happend to me thats why but a little carb. cleaner took car of that. Hope it helps!pdxsentra93 wrote:hey guys im new to the site and im looking for help. any ideas on why my 1993 nissan sentra is having rough/shakey idling and loss of power in acceleration/rough sluggish acceleration, and it smells like burning rubber under the hood. any input on this problem would be much appreciated. thanks.
Yes that is the PCV valve, remove the valve and shake it you should hear the "ball bering" shaking if not then spray some carb. cleaner in it and kinda rinse it out. Let it dry and reinstall it. Do a compression test as ABNRML4U had suggested, you may have a super low compression rate.
