1993 nissan sentra rough shakey idling and loss of power in acceleration

hey guys im new to the site and im looking for help. any ideas on why my 1993 nissan sentra is having rough/shakey idling and loss of power in acceleration/rough sluggish acceleration, and it smells like burning rubber under the hood. any input on this problem would be much appreciated. thanks.

It may be many different things. Blown head gasket is causing low compression. When did you change your oil last? How many miles? Worst to worst piston rings, or bent valves. Check your pcv valve to make sure oil isint going back into the intake manifold. That happend to me thats why but a little carb. cleaner took car of that. Hope it helps!

i changed my oil i think in january.. and the car has 208000 miles on it and its always leaking oil like a b**** so im always dumping a quart of oil in it every 2 weeks or so i know it's rediculous but i dont have much money, either way i would like to know whats wrong with the car now so i can save up to fix all of it. and thanks again this has been a big help!

ok so i wasnt to sure where the pcv valve was.. is this it? and im curious to why there is so much oil build up around my valve cover and spark plugs? any input would be great! thanks!

I really really hate to say this but with over 200+ miles you might have to change the Valve cover gasket and do a compression check. Just think when you fix the problem your GA16DE will last another 100,000 miles. and more. Good Luck and don't give up.

Yes that is the PCV valve, remove the valve and shake it you should hear the "ball bering" shaking if not then spray some carb. cleaner in it and kinda rinse it out. Let it dry and reinstall it. Do a compression test as ABNRML4U had suggested, you may have a super low compression rate. Hope this helps!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! so i go out tonight just to start up the car and now it wont even start.. it sounds like it wants to turn over but it wont fire up... can anyone narrow it down to what the problem is now?? i am just lost and would love to figure it out thanks!
