does anybody know wht rpm the hb ka24e pulls til, mine has rev limiter in it @ 5750 or so, i installed a tach and used to shift at 4600 then realized it would keep pulling farther, so what so you guys shift at for best results when racing? i have stage three clutch which helps off the line and i can chirp 3rd now lol but still need to know how far i can go.

I had an oregon cam grind turbo cam in my old HB same as the nismo one. I had the rev- limiter upped to 6500 and it would pull up to it just fine. If your revving the crap out of your KA though, its time to get an TOGA oil pump, CAM, and look into solid lifters from hybridka.com. peace.

I ran lucas wit dino oil until recntly.. now synth. wih syn lucas., no leaks from swap. but def smoother rpm incres plus bout 3mpg better.

That maybe where yours stops but the factory mark on all the SOHC's I had ever seen was like 5700 ish. Granted it would rev limit to 6500 rpm factory but the red mark on the tach started way earlier. My KA buddy who used to race at PIR told me with my setup I would be making power all the way to 6500rpm. In their race cars they would run a similar setup but with a z24 bottom end apparently. At the time I thought the z series and the KA seires were very similar but later found physically they're vastly different. Oh one last note, GM makes this oil additive with the ZDP in it thats even better than anyhitng I have tried in the past for lifters. It works AWESOME!!! peace.
