OK - this is driving me crazy.

I have surge that I can not figure out.

Wind the car up to about 2500 or so, the RPMs jump to 3000, then fall back to 2500. Over and over and over. Takes about 5 seconds for each cycle.

I can not find any vacuum leaks (but that does not rule out vacuum leaks by any means - they may be hidden.)

I sure would appreciate some insight.
