i have a 1993 240sx with a busted ka24de head gasket and i decided to just change the motor. i found a 1995 ka24de complete engine but the guy at the junk yard said it would not fit my 1993 but he was going strictly by part numbers and computer work. What im asking you professional swappers out there is can that 1995 ka24de (which was an automatic) drop in and hook rite up with my 1993 wiring. my 1993 is a manual. If it can please advise me of what i need to let this 1995 ka24de work in my 1993. thanks a million. need my 240sx b4 my wife tries to sell it.

yes, it will fit, but you should take off both intake manifolds , use the bottom of the 93, & top of the 95 intake manifold (eliminating butterflies)then you want to swap out the throttle bodies putting the 93 onto the 95 engine. swap all censors over and put the 93 distributor into the 95 engine. make sure you switch the o2 censor also. if you are planning on running a/c then you want to use the compressor mounting bracket from the 93 block as the 95 bracket will push your pulley about 1/2 inch off from the rest. and make sure after all this, you time the enigne back at 20 degrees below tdc. just go by the timing marks on the crank pulley, theres a whole other thread on that though.i am currently driving a 92 hatch w/ 98 engine w/ 70,000 on it . it was hell to get done for the simple fact that i didnt have all of the right tools to do it. but there we go, holla if you need n e thing else. suprano,
