My 93 J30t starts great most of the time, but...
On occasion it won't start and I hear a GRINDING noise. Usually rolling the car back 6"- 18" will correct the problem.
Sometimes all that's needed is to put it into neutral and it starts right up.
OK, now the weird part> If I run the heater it's guaranteed that the next time I try to start the car, I'll get the grind. Now, on RARE occasions it grinds even without previous heater use.
I replaced the fuel pressure regulator hoses, recently, but I had this problem prior to that, I only mention the hoses because when I'd run the heater before I did the hoses, it seemed to pump gas fumes into the car, so there may be a (slight) chance of a connection...
(I suspect the bendix)
Anyone had this problem or a solution?
