about 2 hours ago, my wife calls and says all the lights on dash lit at same time (warning lights, emergency lights, etc) and car died immediately. Now the car will not start although the engine turns over, but does not catch. The battery is fully charged. What do you think? The car is 4 hours from the nearest infiniti dealer (wife is safe with parents!!). thanks, lesc

All maintenence is up to date, timing belt has been replaced as scheduled, The temp was about 60 f. Someone suggested a possible alternator problem or a spike that might have blown a relay? The fuel pump is apparently working properly. Thanks for your help!! lesc

Those are syptoms if the car runs out of gas. But I'm assuming this is not the case

That's an interesting one. I would check all the links and fuses under the hood and in the passenger compartment. Burned out ones are usully easy to spot, but not always. Symptom of being out of gas...so maybe the fuel pump or the injector fuses. Hopefully the ECU is OK.

The car was filled with gas prior to the incident. Last night they tested the fuel pump relay as a follow up to a possible alternator spike. I called an Infiniti dealership in Calif. (2 hours behind us and still had a service dept. that was open) and the first thing that came to him was an alternator problem, or related blown relays...we did not discuss the ECU...if that is the case, we are just going to push it into the Gulf of Mexico!! A garage is testing the car now, I should know something before noon my time. I will post their response when they call!! The only good thing about this incident is that it did not happen slightly later...nothing but 11/2 hours of dark road with NO service stations or stores!!! Got Lucky!! Thanks for your replies!! lesc
