1993 J30 UPGRADING to 97 J30 Heated seats???

Hi,I recently purchased a 93 J from a friend of mine, great car but the leather shows alot of ware on it... so i was thinking since ill be changing the seats why not get the newer model which are heated?

Does any body know if the 97 model seats will plug in to the 93 model harness?of not how difficult would it be to hard wire them?

also i want to retain all the power features of both seats afcourse.

I don't know much about '97 seats but I'm pretty sure that '93 through '97 models sold up here in Canada where all sold with heated seats. My advice is to contact an auto recycler in Ontario (use http://www.yellowpages.ca or http://www.superpages.ca). With the current exchange rate you will be able to save $$$ and get a seat for your year that plugs in directly.

I think you will find it soo much cheaper to just replace the leather.

Execute a search we have a few older threads here dealing with leather replacement.

PalmerWMD <--- I can get front and back leather seats from a 97 J30 with heated seats for about $350-400 i think to just replace the leather would be more expensive and plus the power passenger seat doesnt tilt so it needs to be replaced....and since im changing the seats i think that the HEATED seats option would be a nice addition now since the winter is coming...

i know the seats would mount with no problems but i just want to know for sure i will be able to use all the power features of the seats before i buy them and get stuck.

Get em...... heated seats by infiniti are great..... Unlike GM, they just warm, not boil your tush....... Perfection.!

Also, you shouldnt run into any problems...... I dont think the seats acutually changed, except for the heated seats option.......

I do not recall where the switch was on the J, for the heated seats. If it is in the console (like the Q), you will have a little wiring to do, and need the switches.

I have seen Q seats sell for $100 on eBay, but shipping would be a pain. I kinda liked the idea of black leather seats in my silver car. Kinda "Special Edition" look.

I would think the heater would just tap off the power of the power seat. Also most manufacturers have wiring run for options even if the option is not there. So the basic wiring may already be in place. I am sure the service manual in the trunk would have all the info on the wiring of it cause it was atleast an option on the 93, just not standard equipment til 94 or 95 I believe.
