1993 J30 locked

My J is locked with a dead battery. The key will not open the doors. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

can you open the trunk?


I have heard stories of guys putting 12 volts to a bulb socket and doing a reverse charge, not sure it that would work or not...
but might be enought to open doors

try pulling the top of the door open and using a hanger os something to unlock the door from the inside and you should be able to get in that way.

call a locksmith and in under 1 minute he will have the door open

Is it legal to buy and use "slim jim" in your jurisdiction?

If it is, I would get your self one of those and see if you can unlock it otherwise (like Nosaint) suggested, call a locksmith.

the doors should unlock even without power. the two front doors will manually unlock. just twist it clock wise to unlock. counterclockwise locks the car. trunk is the same and can be opened without power.

You would think the key would open the doors but it does'nt. The key will open the trunk.

has the key been replaced recently? could need to be retumbled to work with the front doors.
