1993 J30 Bose Radio

I just bought a 1993 J30 from an old lady and the car looks great, but the bose radio plays cd just fine, but the radio does not work the power attena goes up and down and the bose head unit shows the radio station, but no sound comes out, any ideas what is wrong??

What's wrong is it's old and needs replacing. hehe

when u play the cd is there sound? Bose systems in this era of infiniti cars are known for there intermittent failure, either the display goes out, sound is intermittent, popping noises(amplifiers) each speaker has its own amp. this is a common problem with these bose systems. there are other things u can do, but just need to know more.

When i play cd everything sounds Great no poping all speakers work just great, i played a cd from track 1 until the end and no problems at all, just when it is on radio no sound!

then take out the unit and see if your antenna connection to the back of the unit is in properly or corroded

The Bose stereo on the J is notorious for failing sometimes partially, sometimes the whole thing. You can pick a refurbished OEM unit with Nissan warranty from one of our sponsors (I think its $150-don't quote me) or go aftermarket.

If you run a search or simply scroll through the pages, there is a wealth of information on aftermarket and ICE installs for the J.

well at least u know its not the speakers and thats great. i would check the antena in the back of the radio. I sent my whole unit off to be repaired and now its working like a charm. But i would definitely take it out and look at all connections
