1993 Infiniti G20 Question

I have a 1993 Infiniti G20 and until recently, it has been running fine. This morning as I was coming into work, I could hear a loud noisecoming from the motor. My car only made this loud noise when I went up a hill or pushed on the gas.I have had the car for 4 years and I have never had it in the mechanic's. Maybe it just needs a tune up. Whatever the problem might be, I would like to find out so I can have the problem fixed. Thank you so much for your help.

Did you change the oil every 90 days? These early motors has serious cam wear if you didn't. Also there was an up dated [larger squirt holes onto cam lobes] top mounted oiling tube.

Take it at least to a Nissan dealer or Nissan specialist.

4 years without a checkup?

My boyfriend, groundhogday 1976 who got me started with NICO, changes my oil every 90 days. It has always run fine before, until this morning. I am just concerned with the noise it is making. It really needs a checkup. Thank you for your help.
