So... I have a problem which seems slightly unique, but hopefully others have suggestions... as I have run out of ideas:the following have been tested and work: fuel pump pumps gasolineECU tests out at 5 green lights and 5 red lights (all clear signal)coil sparksspark plugs sparkengine turns overbut...the truck won't start... I have absolutely no idea what happened... because it was running, and running great... then it stalled, and will not start again. Does anyone have any ideas? The only modification I have on the truck is a ported and polished head, and as it is right now it ran perfectly before... just it won't anymore. The only ideas I have left both have to do with gas: whether it be bad gas (I filled up about half tank like a half mile before it died) or water in the gas tank (the truck sat for about a year and a half before I replaced the engine, but it ran after I replaced everything...) help!Brian

Maybe your fuel filter is all clogged up from the sit.

that's something else I know is good; the fuel filter is brand new, and the check i did on the fuel pump had fuel going through the filter, another symptom is a white/gray mist coming out of the intake after turning it over for a while...

so... if i advance the distributor majorly (like, remove the distributor bolts and turn it all the way to the left), it kinda starts for a minute and kicks a lot of black smoke out the back (unburned HC's, yes, yes I know) so... how in the world did a truck which was running fine suddenly, out of the blue, become so out of firing order, or is there something else wrong that someone else knows something about?

I guess this is a little later.. but although the spark plugs sparked... the ceramic lining was cracked. I replaced them, and the truck ran great.
