1993 G20 factory stereo reinstall problem

HiJust purchased this car at a really good price.They had removed the original factory and replaced it at some point.Before I got the car they had removed there amp and head unit.I was reinstalling the factory stereo purchased from a shop for a 1/93 and newer model(mine is 11/93 model) it has the amps in the trunk on the deck.They had left all factory wiring untouched soooo just plug the factory head back and go I thought.That did not work.This stereo has a pigtail hanging off (a round plug with like 6 holes in it) I can not find anything yet that it plugs into does anyone know? Is it for the amp? anyway I plug it in and try it with the unit out(not mounted) just plugged in and the antenna goes up,lights on and no sound.Anyone help with this? I would greatly appreciate it.I checked the fuses for the amp and they are fine.

I just finished replacing the factory unit in my 93. There was just tape player/radio in the dash and the rear amp in the trunk mounted forward of the power ant. Forward speakers worked without the amp.

jc that round plug is for a factory cd- changer. unplug it unless you have one. if you have two clarion amps mounted on the deck and tweeters in the pillars then you have the 93.5 clarion sound system. if you have a known working speaker available test the amps using a jumper wire and this speaker. let me find a wiring diagram for ya.

Thanks for the diagram,I did find that the amps were blown a few days ago.I replaced them with some I got from a salvage yard.The stereo works now but,the speakers in the front are shot.tweeters work,rear speakers work but the front ones just rattle.I am looking to replace them if someone has some or knows where to get them.I know they are 2 ohm not 4 ohm.Someone in another section of the forum said just throw them out and the amps,stereo.I want to try to keep it factory.Also the short round plug where can i find a changer,how does it operate it the stereo does not show cd as an option.Does it goe in the dash under the A/C? And where can I get one if I wish to put it in?thanksJames
