Can someone walk me threw steps on taking the exhaust manifold off on a 1993 j30? I know its hard but i don't have the money to take it somewhere to get it done. Thank you.

Welcome to NICO !!! :bigthumb:
Download the Service manual for your year J.
It should show the process.

Thank you. Is a 93 and a 94 the same? What would the exhaust manifold be under? I don't know how to read the codes.

'93 and '94 are the same (actually all years are). There are "stuck" items on this forum that explain the procedure (depending on model year) on how to pull codes and what they mean.

What's wrong?

Do you have an indy mechanic in your area with knowledge and experience to work on the VG30DE or a shop that has considerable experience with Nissan Z cars?

The bottom of the exhaust manifold where it connects to the EGR tube is stripped. I took it to the shop and they want 1,000 to replace the exhaust manifold. I went down to a junkyard and got a exhaust manifold for 35.00 so now i just have to put it in.
I called around to different shops and they want 400-500 to put it in.
