New member, original owner 1993 NA coupe with 83K miles. For the past couple of years my passenger power window has only worked intermittently. When it works, it works perfectly -- no grinding, no weird noises, no sluggish behavior. When it doesn't work, all I hear is two clicks about 4 seconds apart. I have literally pulled into the Nissan dealership twice, only to have it start working again. I finally figured out that if the outside temperature is over 90 degrees Farenheit the window stops working; once I pull it into a garage and it cools down, or the sun sets, it works. Any ideas or remedy? Motor versus regulator? (I'm crossing my fingers it's only the motor, as that appears to be an easier replacement than the regulator.)

Thanks,
Lee in Charlotte, NC

That's a weird one for sure. From what you say though, it seems harder to believe the motor is bad if it works flawlessly when cooler, while the actuator being intermittent seems far more likely under the same scenario and thinking.

Yeah, it's strange; it's like there is a thermal trip somewhere in the motor circuit (to keep it from overheating while in use) that is too sensitive, or an amp somewhere that delivers the initial jolt of current to the motor that is out of tolerance. Guess I'll have to take the door panels off and lube everything and see if that helps.
