Hey guys I got a 93 300zx twin turbo and I need help lol. Was driving the car the other day when I went over a bump going about 10 mph and car shut off, so I pulled over to the side and tried firing her but no luck. Pushed the car home with a buddy of mine and did some investigation and came to the realization that the fuel pump fuse near the battery popped so obviously took that one out and put a new one in but the moment I put it in it popped again so I knew it was a short somewhere. Saw some naked wires under the passenger wheel well so I taped them up. Put a new fuse In for the fuel pump and Walla it didn't blow. Went over to start the car it started right up but when I went to shut off the car it was still running and all dash lights stayed on as if the ignition was on. Now I looked around a bit and pulled the fuel pump fuse and guess what the car shut off and all lights went off like it's supposed to. With the fuse in it the car starts but won't shut off, with the fuse out the car will crank but won't fire and ignition actually shuts off. I'm puzzled guys any help will be appreciated.

You have some bad shorts somewhere, did you separate the loom when you taped up the wires in the wheel well?

My first guess would be to undo everything you did and start tracing stuff back.. Maybe some of the wires you taped up further back have more bare exposed wires and by taping them you moved them barely enough to ground out somewhere else?
