still trying to find the reason my 1993 300zx na is misfiring. its misfiring off a cylinder on the passenger side and i can smell fuel from inside the car coming from the vents. i did the ecu test and it read 55, i will pull the coil packs on the cylinder i think is bad and test for spark. but are there any other things that it could be? when i got the car, the ptu wasnt bolted in but looked kinda new(connections looked good). could anyone give me some advice (im new to z32's) and could you tell me which injectors to get for my 93 if i need them? (which ones will fit, because i had a friend say i have the newer style injectors so idk which 300zx years fit mine)

1993 300zx na 5 speed with 127k miles
heres a pic of my injector

Welcome to Nicoclub!

You do have what are called New Style "Phase 2" injectors.

Take a long 3/8" extension and touch the injector while the car is running. Listen for a tapping sound.

If you need known good used injectors to replace, email a guy named Bernie. His site is http://www.yugobernie.com/inventory.html and he has way more than listed there.

If it's misfiring then it's most likely the injector(s). The coil packs don't generally go bad (although they can) and you already said the PTU is probably good. Did you actually do a power balance test to see which injectors are bad? You just pull each coil pack connector off while it's idling and see which ones don't change the idle any. If the injector is good it should noticeably drop the idle when you pull the coil pack connector off.

And like BigTDogg said you have the newer style, 270cc NA injectors. If one is misfiring, it will only be a matter of time before others start failing. It's best to replace all 6 at once.

ok i did the power balance test and 2 of my coil packs on the passenger side showed minimal change but the rest dropped idle significantly. so im guessing it is the injectors. thanks for everyones advice!
