Tonight, I was driving my Jetta while my girlfriend followed me in my 240SX.
While were driving, I noticed in my rearview that my right headlight on the 240 is a little loose. When driving at night, it shakes a little bit...it can get annoying if you're the car in front of the 240......it flutters up and down really annoyingly and goes from bright to dim as the car drives.
I just got home and I popped up the lights...I tugged on them a bit...the left one is firm...solid as a rock. The right one is also firm but has a little bit of play, kind of mushy. To be clear, I'm talking about the entire module...not just the sealed-beam headlight itself: the WHOLE pop-up assembly is shaking.
Question: How do I tighten this thing up so it doesn't shake?
I looked under there and there's the big rod there. I just can't figure out what would cause this. Is there a bushing or something that's gone bad? The car's never been in an accident.
