i bought the car knowing it was in an accident, and noticing that the door didn't shut the whole way. It doesnt come open while driving, but has become annoying, if i take a right turn to tight the interior lights come on. I went ahead a put a shim on the button that turns the lights off when the door is closed, but i would now like to fix the door completely since it is stored for winter now and I have a little time.

Problem is I don't know where to begin, should I move the piece that the door laches to in a little (sounds half *** though) or find out where the problem is (that's what I would like to do)

Thanks in advance

The striker in which the latch hooks onto is adjustable. its likely at one time the seat belt tongue got caught in the door adjusting that out word when the latch grabbed onto it. If you loosen the 2 bolts holding it to the pilar you can knock it in with a hammer. resecure it and check the door adjustment. Adjust it till the door is flush with the quarter panel.

I knew I should have just went ahead and loosed up those screws to see if it was adjustable.
