Can you pls. tell what is wrong why the digital readout on speedometer on theDasboard, as well as the one on top of the left side of the dash went out????Just bought this car with a 75,000 original miles and I cannot read my speed although there is my RPM, as well as the rest of the gauges is fine and able to read on the dash.PLEASE ADVISE. Thanks.

Hey,

I am just now in the same boat, my friend. Except, mine went out shortly after I accidently hit a speed bump too hard. I am thinking it is just a loose connection because BOTH the digital speedo in the dash AND the HUD suddenly quit. I am getting an oil change this afternoon with my mechanic who has 240 experience. I will let you know what I find out - maybe it will help you.

Cheers

What - are you kidding me? This has got to be one of the most common questions about 240's next to "SR or KA?" and "What's that rattling sound in my engine?".

Here.

Geez, sorry to push your buttons!

Anyways, I was well aware of that article, but I had a loose connection from hitting a speedbump too hard. Which if you noticed in my previous post was my suspicion all along - not a faulty capacitor.

I simply took it apart and re-seated the connectors. Digital speedo works fine now.

Cheers
